In Obama’s book Dreams From My Father he writes about his friend Ray who likes to use dirty language. This in itself really isn’t that big of a deal. However, there is an audio version of the book read by Barack Obama himself. Thus we get the clips below. Funny stuff. Hopefully this doesn’t destroy my bandwidth. It is probably only a matter of time before we have an Obama soundboard or some sort of Christian Bale mashup.

$825 Billion is a ton of money. I found this graphic which shows a the breakdown of where that money is going. I had to edit it to make it fit on the blog, but since I found it on tinyurl I have no idea who the original author was.

The country has spoken, but did we make the right choice? Some decisions show incredible social progress. Case in point, nationwide, 9 out of 10 marijuana ballot initiatives passed. On the other hand, Alaska has decided to go ahead and re-elect Ted Stevens, even though he was recently convicted of seven separate felonies. He can’t vote, but he can still run for office? Some good decisions, some bad.

Barack Obama was elected overwhelmingly. It was over by 11pm Eastern and I got to go to bed on time. He has inspired so many people, as you can see in pictures or in the form of a flash game. He even inspired The Onion to come up with a very clever headline.

We selected the lesser of two evils, but isn’t the lesser of two evils still evil? I’m happy with how it ended up given our realistic choices, but I would obviously prefer to have had real choice. I think it is pretty obvious what my choice would have been. Even if you disagree with everything I have said thus far, there is one thing we can agree on. It is about time George’s time came to an end.

Here is Obama’s speech after the networks declared him the winner. I will probably do a write up on some of my thoughts on the election, but I can say one thing for sure. I am glad it is finally over.

This is really, really funny. It is almost ten minutes long but definitely worth it.
