I had some quality links for the regular edition of this, but in recognition of Pi Day and for our math enthusiasts out there (all 4 of you), I figured a Pi Day edition couldn’t hurt. All things Pi:
1) Am I in Pi? – Beginning at digit 109,479 of Pi, my birthday (3/31/86) appears. Neat?
2) On a day celebrated universally by mathematicians, physicists also celebrate in a roundabout way. However, AbstruseGoose shares Mooney’s frustrations with physicists.
3) Now that you’ve eaten pie on Pi Day, what do do next? Clear your afternoon schedule and play Pi-Ball. Serious disappointment in the lack of pie involvement though.
4) Recognizing Pi Day is clearly among our priorities for Congress. Nothing else is going on right now.
5) I guess Pi Day needs a theme song too. Not an entirely irrational idea, I guess.
6) What’s Pi Day without a little math challenge? The Pi Day Challenge is a fun flash game with some puzzles and some math. I’m sure a lot of the non-math majors will stop at challenge 4. As far as I can tell, there are more than 25 challenges.
[EDIT: Also, we wish our Hopium a very happy birthday as well. ]
I had my my pie on Pi day
There are yet other fantastic things about March 14, however…

Happy Birthday Hope :) Miss you!
Hope = Pi
If it wouldn’t destroy Mooney’s future career in math I would upload the video of our Pi day celebration from last year.

Oh man, I do not want to think about that day. Waaay too much vodka and milk/kahlua and/or orange soda if I remember correctly. While I have yet to see the video myself, from the way you describe it, I trust that it is for the best that no one ever sees it.

Maybe I will present it at a math conference. I can call it “The Hidden Dangers of Pi Day.”

then we can present your video from 2 years ago to all college undergrads, “The Hidden Dangers of Having A B-Day on Spring Break.”

Did we end up getting you tackling him into the bush on tape? That was the funniest thing ever, lol. Actually, come to think of it, I am not sure I have ever seen any of these spring break tapes.

I have all of the Spring Break tapes in a safe deposit box for fear of them falling into the wrong hands.

We should start taking predictions on when something posted here will fuck someone over in real life.

THE LIBRA RULE: Invariably something said on THE INTERNET shall come back to bite you in the ass in real life (see: IRL). At which point the suffer must atone for the bad blog-karma he has brought, by accomplishing a feat of the other threadposters’ choosing.
i.e.: The Libra Rule was proven true when Mandy found out what Hamby said on THE INTERNET, so Gate told him to fix it by
eating his own sockfinding a backwards gun and shooting himself. The Libra Rule.
