Details matter

Alex Rainert (Head of Product at Foursquare) was kind enough to respond to a random email I sent him (see previous post). Something in his email signature caught my eye. Compare my email signature with his. Note: I blacked out our phone numbers.

Spot the major difference? Same info, but different order. My takeaway: don’t forget about the tiniest of details, because they really matter. People read left to right and are more likely to click on things from left to right. Attention is extremely limited. If I had the chance to get someone to click just one of those, which do you think I want them to take action on?
