One down, nine to go
They say it takes a decade of living in New York to become an official New Yorker. One down, nine to go.
I’ve now been in NYC for a year and five days. What a difference a year makes. I just moved to the East Village. This means there are now about 500 bars / restaurants within a ten minute walk, but on the downside I no longer have a couch for people to crash on.
Moving in NYC is definitely an exercise in balancing space / location / cost. For me, a little less space for a far better location was well worth it. I’m about 15 feet from a great park, 25 feet from the subway, 200 feet from a phenomenal independent film theater and 500 feet from Whole Foods (yes Mom, I’m eating healthy). Not to mention there are literally four great bars within throwing distance of my door. I’m very pleased with the location.
My new roommate is a cool guy as well, he’s currently rocking a mustache to “try it out” in case you needed proof. He’s on twitter if you want to follow him and works with Kanye West making stuff like this and this.
