Check it out here. It is epic. I definitely recommend it. Thanks to Jon Clark via Twitter for the tip.

Learn to Love Twitter 4 comments
Recently I signed up for Twitter at the urging of a colleague. After figuring out what it was all about, I found that I really liked it. Unfortunately it took a little nudging to get me fully understand what was going on.
This is a very short explanation of Twitter:
Think of facebook status updates, but 160 max characters and more frequent. You subscribe to friend’s tweets (the name for the updates) and in turn they subscribe to yours. You can get all of the updates through your phone, but it is turned off by default. You can send tweets (updates) from your phone or from a computer. You don’t type out every literal thing you do all day long. Instead you only put something interesting, funny or important.
Interesting - “I just missed Jared at subway today.” (true, but a story for another day)
Funny - “pandemic has shut down the office.” (everyone got obsessed with the flash game)
Important - “drinking at McCarthys.” (that way friends can meet up with you)
It helps you kill time and keep up with what your friends are doing. Wired has a great article on making tweets interesting that everyone should read, you can check it out here. At the very least I recommend trying it for a week and seeing if you like it.
Below is some sample tweets from my feed today:
hamby86 - this is creepy about 3 hours ago
vebah - rediscovering twitter… thanks for another distraction libra about 8 hours ago
stevebanfield - good to see my LA twitter contacts posting. just seeing the tweets lets me know they are ok. up here in san mateo didn’t feel a thing about 8 hours ago
stevebanfield - CNN’s update on quake http://snurl.com/378bo about 8 hours ago
cld77 - I miss my own bed about 9 hours ago
Does Anyone Want a Blog? Now Offering Free Hosting 4 comments
Previously I was very hesitant about who I offered blog hosting to. Those days are no longer. Recently my host changed some technical aspects, which I won’t go into. Long story short I can now host about ten times as much stuff as before.
If you are interested in getting hosting take a few moments to answer the following questions.
1. Do you know me in real life?
2. Do you plan on updating a minimum of two or three times a week?
3. Do you have anything interesting to write about?
4. Does your future wife’s first name rhyme with your last name?
Depending on how you answered those questions you should probably be able to figure out whether or not you qualify. The next step is to send me an e-mail requesting hosting.
The Executive Director’s Office 2 comments
“The Executive Director’s Office” is the titled I made up for this video. Before watching, it requires some serious explanation to maximize the hilarious context.
Two weeks ago we all went down to a conference in Miami called FEA or Fraternity Executives Association. I had to leave early to go to a wedding so I missed the closing banquet. Apparently a lot of the organizations made videos thanking their executive directors. Below is the video we submitted. I am told that the audience found it very funny. If you are totally lost, it was supposed to be a spoof of this. I should also note that I didn’t find out about this until yesterday.
Monday Morning Distraction: Pandemic 2 10 comments
Monday Morning Distraction is a weekly feature designed to highlight something that will help waste your time and get you through those crappy Mondays. (If anyone in my office is reading this, I post this on Sunday night and set it to update on Monday morning. I would never do anything besides work in the office.)
I will admit, Applegate discovered this and put it on his blog. A week later, even though I beat it, I still can’t stop playing it. Pandemic 2 is an incredibly addicting game. It centers around trying to wipe out the planet with a disease. Unfortunately you don’t necessarily have to win to get the best score. Your score is based on how quickly you kill a large amount of people. I have gotten more points by going for speed instead of numbers.
Post your best scores in the comments.
100 Days Until the Election no comments
I noticed today that we are exactly 100 days away from the Presidential election. This is a great opportunity to spend some time figuring out which candidate you actually identify with. This site lets you put in your preferences on issues and then shows how much you actually identify with the candidates. Unfortunately they do not represent Libertarian candidate Bob Barr.

Watch Documentaries Online for Free no comments
Snag Films is a new site that offers full length documentaries for free. The catch is that advertisements are spliced intermittently into the films. They have some pretty good ones available such as Super Size Me.
Weekend Reading 1 comment
One of the features I am starting is to “weekend reading.” Basically every Friday / Saturday I am going to post a bunch of links that I am too lazy to write individual posts about. They will be tied together with the general theme of being interesting things to read while you are sitting around bored on the weekends.
